STRONTIUM ISOTOPE Strontium is a dark, yellowish, alkali earth metal that has four stable, naturally occurring isotopes. It is used for medical radiation as well as studying the age of origin of igneous rock.

Strontium-90 is a radioactive isotope that could be used to make a dirty bomb. Other radioactive materials are usually chosen over Strontium-90 because it is scarcer and much more expensive. Other isotopes, however, have a shorter half life and lesser absorption.
