After working undercover in Mexico closely with Ramon and Hector, the Salazar brothers for several years, Jack Bauer managed to put Ramon, the drug kingpin, behind bars. But it came at a serious cost. Sat in his glass encased office at CTU Los Angeles, Jack indulges in a bad habit which brings back bad memories he would rather forget, and awakens some nightmares he would rather not dream of.

Whilst sleeping at a hotel, Jack Bauer is awoken by the sound of men breaking into a car. He chases after them, only to witness the shooting of an innocent hotel bellboy. And so his day began...
